The Challenges posed by AI

In 1987 when working on treasury capability in a merchant bank I was asked: “so what’s with this Artificial Intelligence stuff and when will it happen?” My response at the time was “ we will only achieve full artificial intelligence when we build a machine smart enough to decide “you know what, I don’t feel like going to work today”….. Interestingly, now in 2021, we are faced with the dilemma of building thinking objects that are capable of making decisions within a mindful, emotional and moral framework…. So what happens when it does?
